A tooth gem is a small, crystal opal or 18k gold charm that is attached to the front of a tooth using dental composite, similar to the adhesive used for orthodontic brackets. The procedure is non-invasive, typically takes 15-30 minutes and can last from 6 months to over 3 years depending on the material and care.
Unlike grillz, which cover mutiple teeth, tooth gems are individual and minimally impact the tooth surface.
After care consists of brushing and flossing carefully around the gem and avoiding biting hard foods directly on the gem.
